Make a Wish - 29"x20" Framed Mixed Media on Wood

Item Description

There once was a little girl made of cloth. She woke up one day, remembering nothing but her name, Misery Black. Misery sees the world through wide, innocent eyes.

This piece is one of the first that I did on wood rather than paper. This marks the beginning of my transition from traditional drawing and painting into more mixed and experimental media. I was dying to do something with dried flowers. As a dog walker, I see lots of wildflowers out and about. I collected some and dried them, using them to emphasize the swirling of a dandelion head when you blow on it. I saw Misery making a wish and as she blew, the seeds swirled and bloomed with her wishes on the wind. I added more texture and flowers to the frame to show Misery's wishes for happiness growing and expanding out into the world. If I had a dandelion, I would wish that this little baby found a happy home.

Original ink and acrylic on wood with texture and dried flowers. The frame is handmade 29"x20" painted wood, embellished with texture and dried flowers, ready for hanging.

**Please note that shipping is an estimate. I'm really not sure what the rate would be because of being over sized. Shipping will be adjusted for any major discrepencies. If you live locally, pick up or delivery may be possible. Contact me at info@laughinggoddessdesigns.com for more info.***
