So Far Down - 24"x36" Mixed Media on Paper Mounted on Wood

Item Description

There once was a little girl made of cloth. She woke up one day, remembering nothing but her name, Misery Black. Misery sees the world through wide, innocent eyes.

This piece is the first time that I attempted a large scale Misery piece. Up until this point, all of the drawings that I had done were smaller than 11"x14". As an oil painter, I had often worked in large scale, but using pen and ink is much different. Another challenge was framing. A little inside T, I don't enjoy framing. So trying to frame a piece this large was a real issue. Instead, I mounted it on plywood. But I wasn't satisfied with just that. At this point, I was ready to try playing with found objects. I painted the wood so that the line between drawing and mounting would blur. I added texture medium and buttons in order to mimic the rocky texture of an old well. I had fun with this piece. It was originally inspired by feeling stuck in depression. It became a way to process and release my depression. This little baby surely deserves a loving home.

Original ink and acrylic on watercolor paper. The piece is mounted on 24"x36" plywood that is painted and accented with texture and buttons. It comes wired and ready for hanging.

**Please note that shipping is an estimate. I'm really not sure what the rate would be because of being over sized. Shipping will be adjusted for any major discrepencies. If you live locally, pick up or delivery may be possible. Contact me at info@laughinggoddessdesigns.com for more info.***
