Mixed Media
My dolls have been inspiring me to experiment more and stretch my boundaries. Initially, it was just two dimensionally: pen and ink, acrylic, ink wash, charcoal. As I am continuing to grow, I find myself being pulled towards more assemblage. I've long been a fan of assemblage and found object art, but my brain thinks flat!
Playing and experimenting with my art has increased my confidence in my work and given me the courage to take bigger risks. Lately I have been playing around with dimensional and textured framing. It's not fully 3-D yet, but I really feel my boundaries stretching. I still have a long way to go, but I really am enjoying the journey!
