Shadow Puppets - 11"x15" Framed Ink and Acrylic on Watercolor Paper

There once was a little girl made of cloth. She woke up one day, remembering nothing but her name, Misery Black. Misery sees the world through wide, innocent eyes.

As an artist, I'm used to having very few resources available. In many of my pieces, I like to use found objects. One reason for this is that I have lots of tchotchkies on hand. I also re-use and re-work older pieces to make something new. The challenge is always to build something out of nothing. In this new piece, "Shadow Puppets", Misery shows us that we don't need a lot in order to find joy. Spending time with those you love, using whatever you have around and a little imagination is a recipe for laughs and warm memories. 

"Shadow Puppets" is pen, ink and acrylic on 11x15 watercolor paper. The frame is handmade, painted white and embellished with assorted red buttons and bows, finished with gloss varnish and wired for hanging.
